Northside Farm wedding photographer Northumberland

Wedding photography from the beautiful Northside Farm in Northumberland

I was booked to provide 3 hours of wedding photography at Lydia & Tim’s wedding at Northside Farm. What a lot you can pack into 3 hours wedding photo coverage!

Firstly, when I heard there was going to be a ferris wheel at this wedding I was thinking of one of the little ones the toddlers ride on. On arrival at Northside Farm I realised I had misjudged it. There was a full size fairground ferris wheel in the final stages of construction on the grass!

After a quick look at the setup in the wedding breakfast room I headed across to find the groom for some photos. He was found with his groomsmen by one of the cute little wooden fairytale cottages.

I also got to meet Doris! Who doesn’t love a gorgeous dog at a wedding? Especially one with the top job of delivering the wedding rings!

Once I’d said ‘Hi’ to Doris and taken a few more photos of the wedding party I hotfooted it back to where the bride was finishing her wedding preparations.

Once Dad had arrived and got his ‘first look’ at his daughter in her wedding dress it was just about time to go and get married. We stopped briefly for a few pics against the beautiful backdrop of the fields and headed off for the ceremony.

A wonderful wedding ceremony followed in the beautiful light of the gin gan.

And what wedding is complete without a joyful confetti photo?!

After coaxing all the guests to assemble we grabbed a photo of everyone followed by various other groups and combinations. Most people want some of these more formal photos and I always suggest keeping down to around 10 group photos to stop guests getting too bored waiting around. 10 groups don’t take too long especially if the group list has been prepared and sorted in advance to make it as efficient as possible!

I will let you into a secret. Fields like these or stubble fields are my absolute favourite place to take wedding photos. There is something about them that totally rocks and the light that is created by them on a slightly overcast day like this is just yummy! I could spend my whole life taking wedding photos in a field like this and not get bored. But I didn’t keep the bride and groom away from their guests for that long - just few minutes!

And we reunited with Doris again!

In case you don’t know there is a permanent zip wire at Northside Farm so make sure you schedule a few minutes to have a play on your wedding day!

We made a visit to one of the glamping pods some of the guests were staying in.

And then…. it was ferris wheel time!

Not many people can claim wedding kiss photo on a ferris wheel!

Northside Farm created the perfect, beautiful relaxed wedding day for this lovely couple. Three hours coverage allowed us to capture most of a key moments of the day and delivered 500 edited photos (you’ve just seen a small selection ignoring the many candid shots of guests, groups photos etc.) for the bride and groom to remember the day by.
