Lindisfarne Castle, Holy Island wedding
The most stunning Northumberland wedding location?
Well this was a first for me - a wedding at Lindisfarne Castle on the lovely Holy Island up in the wilds of Northumberland. A beautiful sunny day in February complete with hurricane force icy winds!
Inside, the castle is how you might imagine (and hope) it is - very castley! The ceremony takes place in a gorgeous vaulted stone room with candles burning and is full of a feel of times gone by. You really sense you have traveled to a very different place and a very different time.
Then you come outside and WOW! Those views!
I have photographed many weddings but I have to say it’s hard to recollect being somewhere with a more awesome backdrop - even if it was hard work just to remaining standing in the wind that was blowing!
As can be seen, one of Ed and Ben’s VIP wedding guests was Coco the dog - and very smart he was too.
There is such a huge variety of scenes available within a few minutes walk that in a very short space of time you can bag some truly outstanding wedding photos.
So, if you like these images then maybe consider Lindisfarne for your own wedding? Or at the very least why not have your pre-wedding shoot here? Just make sure you check the tides!
