Shortflatt Tower wedding photographer

This was the first time I’ve photographed a wedding at Shortflatt Tower near Belsay in Northumberland as they’ve only started doing weddings this year. Wow! What a gorgeous venue to hold your wedding at! It has a lovely laid-back country feeling and some stunning photo ops for great wedding photos.

I was blessed to be photographing Aurie & Charlie’s wedding at Shortflatt Tower and what a beautiful day it was.

After some bridal preps with the bridesmaids at one of the cottages near the main house at Shortflatt it was dress on time and the final touches.

After checking that Aurie looked as stunning as expected(!) I headed across to see the groom and best man for some photos in the garden and the field behind the house.

Considering it was their wedding day both Aurie and Charlie were both incredibly chilled and it was a real pleasure to chat to them and enjoy the morning (while grabbing some pics of course!).

Obligatory bubbly and bridesmaids shenanigans followed.

I caught a few final ‘bride ready’ shots as she was sat on the sofa before her Mum and Dad arrived to see her.

On the way to the ceremony building we paused in the main house for a couple of final bride photos before the wedding ceremony, There is a gorgeous arched window at Shortflatt which, with the sun streaming through it, made for some stunning pics of Aurie!

The final walk through the garden and the groom was waiting for us.

A beautiful wedding ceremony in a beautiful setting. What more can you ask for?

Capturing the happy exit of the bride and groom and I managed to sneak a couple of photos of them pausing and relaxing in the garden before the guests caught up with them.

And here they are!

We spend just a few minutes getting the ‘formal’ photos that the bride and groom had requested beforehand.

And then took them away from their guests for 15 minutes for the bride a groom the chill a little and grab a few couple photos along the way.

The garden at Shortflatt Tower is beautiful and makes some some wonderful and varied wedding photos. We also snuck out into the field behind the house for a few more.

Tell me these are gorgeous wedding photos?!

I was only stopping up until the start of the wedding breakfast so we grabbed a couple of pretend cake cut shots before I finished.

But I couldn’t resist waiting until they walked across to the wedding breakfast to capture a final few shots and a lovely kiss!

My first visit to Shortflatt Tower was a really memorable one. A beautiful wedding venue with some fantastic photos ops and great staff to help it all along. I’d love to get back there again very soon, so if you are planning a wedding there - or at any other venue in the North East let me know. I’d be happy to chat about your wedding day and offer you a quote for your wedding photography. Contact me here.
